First Edition . Binding is Hardcover . Bound in faded-purple cloth with a blind-stamped border and gilt lettering on the spine. 7 1/4" x 4 1/2", 302 pages. CONDITION: There is a small 1/4" diameter hole rubbed in the binding on the spine; otherwise, the book is in Near Good condition. There is wear to the extremities and the pages are lightly foxed. Also, the spine is starting to roll, but the book is still tight and intact and the hinges are solid. Elizabeth Stuart Phelps, an early feminist, is best known for adult works of fiction that deal with the problems of women in traditional marriages. #011476
